Dannon Carb / Sugar Control Smoothie

Smoothies are notoriously high in sugar. They claim to be "healthy" while putting 36g or more of sugar in one serving! Dannon has a healthy yogurt smoothie which provides vitamins without the sugar.

Smoothie is a generic name given to any blended beverage, usually with fruits in it. People think that because it has fruit in it, it must be great for you. However, most smoothie makers add TONS of sugar and corn syrup to their smoothies, making them literally worse than soda as far as weight gain and teeth rotting go. And we wonder why people get heavier each year!

Luckily, into this bizarre situation came Dannon. Dannon is well known for its yogurt products and knows a few things about avoiding sugar in their products. They decided to give a try to a strawberries and cream smoothie that didn't have all the excess sugar. In fact this has NO excess sugar. Even with the natural sugars found in strawberries, this still clcoks in at **90%** less sugar than other smoothies on the market!

These come in 4 packs of 7oz bottles, which are great for tucking into a lunch bag for a dessert or afternoon snack. You do want to keep them cool, but then you just shake and drink. I really did enjoy the strawberry flavor. I'm sometimes hesitant about how some yogurts taste, but I found this quite tasty. It does taste "sweet" - it doesn't taste dry or harsh at all. They did this with Splenda.

There are only 4g of carbs for a serving, which is very impressive! There's no trans fats at all. Even the sodium is low - only 1% of your daily RDA, and you get 12% of your daily protein.

For other vitamins, you get 20% Vitamin D, 15% Calcium, 10% Vitamin A, 10% Phosphorus, and a few other lower numbers. So in the grand scheme of things, if you're going to have this as a dessert or snack, you're actually getting benefits from drinking this. That's much better than most junk foods!

If you're someone who likes the smooth, rich flavors of a milk shake or smoothie, this is definitely something to have on your list, no matter what type of diet or eating plan you are on. It's healthy, it's good for you, it's tasty and it's low in sugar. That's a good plan for everybody!
