Calling My Angels by Niall
Following the success of his album Reiki River, New Age musician and composer Niall has released Calling my Angels. I’ve written a guided meditation to help you to contact your Guardian Angel that works beautifully with this album.
I found Calling my Angels less musically complex than Reiki River. It has a simplicity that floats over you and forms a serene ambient space for spiritual work. Vocalist Juliana is the wife of well-known artist Llewellyn and her enchanting voice blends seamlessly with Niall’s harmonious instrumentals to form a perfect accompaniment for angelic meditations.
I felt the one thing the album lacked was a guided visualisation in the sleeve notes to help newcomers meet their angelic guardian. So, for those who read my site, here’s one of my own visualisations to help you contact your guardian angel. You may like to tape the words so that you can just relax and follow the instructions easily.
First set up your space. Your angels can enter any space, however grungy, but a clean, tidy space respectfully welcomes them, helps you to lift your own awareness and improves your ability to perceive them. Take a bath or shower and change into some clean clothes. Again being a bit whiffy won’t send your angels flying away, but this simple purification ritual is signalling your readiness, helps to clear your own vibration and is an act of respect for your angel. You may wish to light some natural incense and a candle. The incense smoke symbolises your thoughts and prayers rising upwards to the heavens and the candle is a light that can be perceived in the spirit realms, saying you are ready for this contact.
Put some angelic music on. Anything gentle and floaty without ‘jangling’ noise will help. A specifically composed piece like Calling My Angels is ideal.
Sit comfortably with your back upright and your feet flat on the floor. Take a few deep breaths, letting go of tension and allowing yourself to sink deeper into your chair with every breath you take.
Feel the soles of your feet heavy and sinking into the ground, anchoring you. Wait until you feel well ‘planted’ and secure before you move on.
Now imagine a beautiful shiny globe like a soap bubble all around you. It is tough and strong despite looking so delicate and ethereal. Enjoy watching the patterns of the colours as they float around the surface of the bubble.
Watch as the bubble starts to rise with you inside it. Imagine it is lifted on air currents high above your home, high above the treetops, you rise in your bubble effortlessly. You float up higher still and find that you are bobbing happily above the clouds in a beautiful blue sky. This is fun and you smile to yourself, it makes you feel playful, light-hearted and childlike.
You feel so carefree it is easy for your angel to come to you. Call now in your mind for you guardian angel to be with you. You may become aware of a change in air pressure, a lovely scent, the sound of bells or even trumpets, a gentle caress or a feeling of warmth around you. Perhaps you will sense your angel wrap you in his wings. Maybe you’ll get a visual impression of your angel.
Once you sense your angel is with you can ask for a name. You don’t really need a name to contact your angel but we humans like to know names! A word may just 'arrive' in your head. Listen carefully. Some angel names are familiar; some sound strange to our ears. If you have any questions you can put them to your angel now. Sometimes you’ll get an answer in the form of words, sometimes in pictures and sometimes messages will come for you later on, perhaps as synchronicity.
When you are ready to return thank your angel for being there and then slowly allow your bubble to float you down to the Earth. When you find yourself back in your chair take your attention back to your feet and the chair you’ve been sitting on. Take a few deep breaths and when you are ready open your eyes and drink a glass of water.
It is best to write down your impressions straight away as they’ll probably fade over time. Give yourself a little bit of time to restore normal waking consciousness before you put out your candle and go back to everyday activities.
