Nintendo Revolution Update

The next version of Nintendo's console after the GameCube is code named Revolution. Learn more about the progress of this much better multiplayer-enabled system.

Of course, there are only rumors out right now, as Nintendo has yet to make any real, formal announcements about their new system. As we've seen in the past, specs are always likely to change as the system nears completion. But so far, we've heard that this new system will be much more multiplayer friendly, coming with a built in ethernet to make it more like the PS2 and XBox.

The system will also support four joysticks by default, to help with multiplayer gaming in the comfort of your own home.

Speaking of joysticks, they're supposed to have a gyroscope in them, just like the cool mouse-controllers that let you move a mouse by waving your hand around in the air. It's about time they used that technology for gaming!

Taking its cue from the PS2, the new system will be fully backwards compatible. There's nothing like having a gigantic library of existing favorites to launch your new system with :)

The next official news about the Revolution is going to be announced at the giant E3 Expo, being held from May 17-20, 2005 in Los Angeles, California.
