Take the Whole Family to Vegas

Las Vegas, Nevada has long been considered a playground for adults. When I tell people that I went there several times as a kid, they look at me in surprise. So for many years, I thought maybe my parents were the only ones who took their kids to Vegas. Recently, my husband and I visited the city to attend a friendís wedding. I was pleased to see that many visitors had brought their children with them.

If youíre planning on visiting Las Vegas soon, you may be wondering if you should bring your entire family. Rest assured, you wonít be alone in bringing your children. The city offers many forms of entertainment for kids.

Several casinos offer built-in attractions that entice the whole family for a visit. As of this writing, the following casinos have on-site family-friendly attractions.

Mandalay Bay Beach with wave pool and Shark Reef
Thrill Rides and Observation Deck at the top of the Stratosphere
Circus Circus - largest ongoing circus, indoor theme park, arcade, and 4D theaters
El Mirage - Siegfried and Roy Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat
Excalibur - Tournament of Kings (dinner and jousting)
Luxor - Titanic Artifact Exhibit
MGM Grand - CSI:The Experience
New York New York - Big Apple Coaster and Arcade
The Venetian - Gondola Rides and Madame Tussauds Wax Museum

Many of the famous Vegas shows are also fun sources of entertainment for the older kids.
Here are some of the long-standing shows currently running in Las Vegas.

Carrot Top comedy show (ages 16+)
Jabbowockeez dance performance
Criss Angel magic show
Ka - epic aerial battle
Blue Man Group
Island Heat Polynesian dance dinner show
David Copperfield magic show

*Always check the age restrictions for shows and attractions before purchasing tickets.

Of course, you donít have to stay on the Strip to have fun. Here are a few off-strip places in Las Vegas you might want to visit with the kiddos.

Pole Position Raceway: Indoor go-karts
Discovery Childrenís Museum
Las Vegas Natural History Museum
Track Tours at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
Movie Theaters

*Casinos and attractions in Las Vegas change over pretty rapidly, so be sure to check official websites before booking your trip.

There's so much for the family to see and do in Las Vegas, Nevada, you won't have time to get to it all in one trip. Choose your favorites and enjoy!
