We all love a great romance story, but the ones that often seem to stay with us are the tragic ones. They can literally make us cry. We get sucked into the story so much that it actually plays with our emotions and has us also feeling heartbroken. Only the amazing movies can move us to tears and always stay in our minds. Romeo & Juliet

This is always the first tragic romance that comes to mind. Written by the one and only William Shakespeare, this movie will stay with you forever. It’s a beautifully made movie, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. It’s about two young lovers who are from rival families. They will do anything to be able to stay together. It’s a great story of love, friendship, family, jealousy and death. Fantastic acting, great story, I couldn’t have asked for a better tragic romance than this.

Titanic

Leonardo stars again in this magnificent film based on the sinking of the Titanic. He plays alongside the gorgeous Kate Winslet and their chemistry together is amazing. This is another one of the biggest and best tragic romances of our time. The movie is brilliant from start to finish and this is a movie you can watch many times and love it more each time.

Tristan & Isolde

A story of forbidden romance and the lengths that a couple will go to in the name of love. This movie has great battle scenes and a love story that has no limits. I really loved this movie, I think of it as a Romeo & Juliet type film. If you love romance with action and well, then I recommend this one to you.

Pearl Harbour

Based on the true story of the bombings, this movie is spectacular. A love triangle involving two best friends surrounded by the chaos of war and death. I’ll admit to crying the first time I watched this movie, I adored it and if you haven’t yet seen it then I think that you should watch it. A great war movie with an epic love story, who can ask for more than that?

Sweet November

Charlize Theron and Keanu Reeves are perfect in the moving love story. It’s all about learning to love and enjoying your life. A great movie but a very sad one.

A Walk To Remember

Based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks, this movie will leave you in tears. It’s a story of two young people who come together against their will but end up staying together by choice. A beautiful romance story that proves that true love can come when you least expect it and with who you’d least expect it from.

P.S. I Love You

Hilary Swank and the gorgeous Gerard Butler star in this heartbreaking tale of a love lost that found away to still be around. I enjoyed this one better the second time that I watched it. It’s a very unique love story which makes it much more interesting.
