Based on the 1964 novel of the same title by Roald Dahl, but not a direct remake of the 1971 film, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory that starred Gene Wilder, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory aimed to be more faithful to the original book and alot less musical.

Charlie Bucket (Freddie Highmore) is a boy from an impoverished family who lives in the shadow of a giant chocolate factory. When Charlie finds himself as one of the five winners in candy bar contest, he is given a tour of the amazing factory that is ran by the eccentric Willy Wonka and the Oompa-Loompas.
