Southern Cooking Newsletter

Guest Author - Connie Barbour

Hello! Thank you for your interest in the Southern Cooking Newsletter. This free newsletter is sent weekly and shares recipes, cooking tips, seasonal information and other advice on cooking like a Southerner.
Southern cuisine is a richly diverse style of cooking enhanced by influences from all over the globe. Long before the idea of "eating seasonally" had percolated through the food world, it was at the core of a Southern kitchen where recipes traditionally relied on fruits and vegetables from kitchen gardens, and seafood fresh-caught in local rivers and lakes or in nearby oceans and bays.
The newsletter will feature old school Southern recipes heavy on butter and bacon fat, but also those that take a healthier and lighter approach to old favorites. The recipes will reflect the reality of 21st century lives, offering budget tips and quick-fix ideas that save money and time while offering the maximum of nutrition and flavor.
In addition to providing weekly recipes, the Southern Cooking Newsletter contains links to the latest article, along with cooking tips, product recommendations and book reviews, along with occasional articles on the history and lore of ingredients used in Southern Cooking. The newsletter also features links to the latest discussions on the Southern Cooking forum.
