The Last Kiss
Guest Author - Rain Battle

If you saw hunky Tony Goldwyn, you’d remember him. Tall and handsome, I remember him best as Sam’s back-stabbing friend in “Ghost,” the very strange Dr. Rudolph in “Kiss the Girls,” and Colonel Bagley in “The Last Samurai.” What you may not know is that Goldwyn is also a producer and director, and his latest film looks very promising.

Paul Haggis, the only person in history to win two consecutive Oscars for Best Picture, also wrote this film. He co-wrote “Crash,” and “Million Dollar Baby,” also Oscar winners. Based on Gabriele Muccino’s film, “L’ Ultimo bacio” (The Last Kiss), this is the story of choosing a life’s path between what you’re expected to do and what you want to do.

Michael (Zach Braff) has it all figured out - or so he thinks. He has a career he loves, great friends, his family, and a beautiful girlfriend that he’s been with since college. Everything is all planned out. Since he knows that he’ll have to grow up at some point, he decides to do it with his girlfriend, Jenna. They will buy a house, get married, have children… Then he meets Kim and suddenly begins to doubt his plan.

Kim (Rachel Bilson) is attractive, but there’s something different about her. When Michael is with her, he feels free, the future seems unpredictable and exciting. Her energy threatens his carefully plotted life, and suddenly Michael finds himself questioning everything, even his plan to be with Jenna forever. As he tries to figure out what he wants to do with his life, his relationship with his parents, Jenna, and his friends is threatened.

“The Last Kiss” stars Zach Braff, who you might know best from his role as Dr. John Dorian “J.D.“, his hilarious role in “Garden State,” and the voice of the animated character in “Chicken Little.” The other actors in this film are also easily recognizable including, lovely Rachel Bilson stars as Summer Roberts on the O.C. Jacinda Barrett, who got her start quite famously on MTV’s Real World London, is also currently starring in “School for Scoundrels” and was recently seen in “Poseidon.” Also starring: Casey Affleck, one of my favorite actors, the awesome Blythe Danner, and Eric Christian Olsen.
