Recently, I watched the DVD of “The Secret”. It was an amazing movie, but what was even more amazing is that the theories expressed within “The Secret” are the same theories I have been teaching for years.
Basically, the secret is that we are all creators of our world. Our thoughts have immense power, and they determine what type of energy we bring into each of our lives. We have the power to change our own lives, the lives of those around us, and in essence, the very fiber that makes up our world.
We are made up of energy.. everything around us is energy.. millions and billions of little dots of energy that combine to make a bigger "unit" of energy.
Sometimes I work the Photo Lab at my job. If you are familiar with digital photos.. you know that there are a million little dots called megapixels that combine to form a digital photo. To me, digital cameras are amazing things. The person brings in a camera card, puts it in the machine.. and presto... in about 10 minutes out come hundreds of photos, which were contained on that tiny little piece of plastic.
And, all of this around us is made up of those same type of megapixels. This whole world is like a giant digital video!
Now, in order to take digital pictures or do a digital video, you have to use a camera. The camera focus’s on the image you want to capture, zooms in on it, and sends that image to the camera card or memory chip or whatever else is being used to capture the images.
I see the source of all things, call it God, Goddess, Allah, the Universe etc., as the camera. That source sends the image to us, the digital card, and we in turn download the images we are sent into physical reality.
Sometimes, however, something goes wrong in the process, and a picture will come out too dark, too light, or blurry. In order to take a sharp, clear picture, the camera, the digital card, and the process of making the print have to work in harmony. So, if we want the images that we are being downloaded to come out crisp and clear, we have to make sure that we are receiving the images, and sending them through the correct processing procedure (our mind.)
So, when you have that concept in mind.. and it is backed up scientifically... you can understand the principle of manifestation.
Thought is energy... and energy draws like energy.. just like two magnets of the same charge. So, if you want something all you have to do is picture it in your mind, and send that thought out to the universe like a laser beam.. and the universe always responds.
Well, the problem is that we produce thousands of thoughts in one day. And, some of those thoughts we definitely don’t want to bring into instant manifestation. Just imagine if everything you thought appeared all at once in front of you..
So, in our third dimensional world, there is a time lag between what we think and what we manifest. That allows us time to determine what it is we really want. But, that isn’t so easy either. How many people actually know what it is that they really want? We change our minds every minute of every day, and the Universe has to try and keep up with those changes…
“She loves him… She loves him not.” “Whoops, rearrange the Universe once again.”
People have actually been practicing this concept for thousands of years. It is called prayer or meditation, spell casting, etc. We may be addressing the source of energy that we come from by different names, but in truth, it is all the same. We are calling that which we wish to have happen into manifestation.
I don't know exactly how it works .. but it does.. if you have a positive mindset, you attract positive things into your life.. if you have a negative mindset, you attract negative things.
The other problem is that in order for manifestation to occur, it has to be in harmony with everyone else who is involved in the situation… so sometimes the “coincidences” involved may take years to bring a thought into manifestation.
I would highly recommend watching “The Secret.” For me, it was a reminder of that which I already knew… and it actually put me back on track as far as making a concrete list of those things that I really want, as well as working on getting rid of those things that are no longer relevant to my spiritual growth process.
