Update on Locker Room Clean-up

Update on Locker Room Clean-up
I had a meeting with the upper manager of our Mill Creek Golf Course after not getting any progress by talking to the golf course manager. I ran into this manager in the club house and since it was a slow morning at the time I took him into our locker room and pointed out things that needed to be done. We have outdated locker along one full side of our room that no body uses and told him I wanted them removed. He agreed they were old and not needed.

I told him that our walls needed to be striped of wallpaper but said that I could get a group of our ladies together and we could wash down the wall and clean out all the lockers and redecorate the room. I also pointed out that the ceiling was dirty and needed to be repainted and the light fixtures were missing covers and some broken. I also mentioned that I wanted a door or a partition that would cover the entry into the shower and toilet areas. I said this needed to be a private area and not open to the rest of the locker room.

I also said that our ladies would purchase a round wood table and would want to use some of the dinning room chairs in place of the large chairs that we have now. We also will replace the lockers with a storage cabinet to match our table. We have one of our ladies that has a retail store and she offered to make some basket arrangements for the table and sink area.

I also told him that I wanted the cork bulletin board that was given to us mounted on our entry wall for many of our activities of golfing events. He listened to me very carefully and noted all the things I suggested. I reminded him that since we have so many special events held at the golf course they all use the rest rooms, so we should put out a better image than messy locker rooms. Evidently he agreed and we are in the process of updating with a group of our members willing to help.

A week ago on Monday we gathered together with cleaning supplies, garbage bags, tools, vacuum sweeper, brooms, sponges, towels and good old elbow grease. We attack this messy room and in four hours we had a good start. Below the pictures included shows of the progress we made. I will give you a final report when everything gets finished.

This is the clutter corner of our locker room

A few of our members were willing to work hard to clean up everywhere.

Even our Ladies Golf President worked wonders on that ceiling fan.
