Italian Sparkling Wine Cocktails

These are lovely, Italian twists on traditional cocktails.

Amaretto Champagne Cocktail Recipe

A fresh take on the Mimosa cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces Champagne
  • 1 ounce Amaretto
  • 1 ounce Grand Marnier
  • 1 ounce orange juice
  • orange slices

Directions

  1. Pour the amaretto and Grand Marnier into a champagne flute.
  2. Pour in the Champagne.
  3. Garnish with an orange slice and serve.

Note: Grand Marnier (gʀã maʀnje) is a liqueur created in 1880 by Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle. It is a kind of triple sec, made from a blend of true cognacs, distilled essence of "Citrus Bigaradia," a Caribbean orange, and other ingredients. Because oranges were a rare treat reserved for holidays Grand Manier became a liqueur associated with luxury.

Italian Kiss Cocktail Recipe

A delightful cocktail made with sparkling wine and orange juice.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Pour Amaretto and orange juice into a tulip shaped glass.
  2. Pour the sparkling wine into the glass.
  3. Garnish with half an orange slice.

Note: Amaretto is a sweet almond liqueur. It is made from a base of apricot or almond pits, with added spices and flavors.
