Another Duramed FUTURES Tour will be held at Richmond Country Club in Richmond, VA on August 14-16 with the Pro-Am’s on August 12 -13, 2009. Matthew Schulze is the Director of Golf at Richmond Country Club. Last year winner of this event was Haejli Kang of Seoul, South Korea with Sophia Sheridan from Guadalajara, Mexico in Second.

The IMPACT Ventures Classic will once again bring new women’s professional golfers to Richmond. This is number 15 in this year of 17 individual tournaments selected to hold the Duramed FUTURES Tour. Many of these young professional women golfers are in hopes of making it to the LPGA tour. The top ten who have shown they are winners will automatically become part of the LPGA next year.

The Richmond Country Club will be ready to cheer on these talented golfers and play along side them in the Pro-Am on August 13th. These players coming to Richmond are from 31 countries from around the world they all have great talent and have been successful in either amateur or college golf.
There has been much support for women’s golf in Virginia as they welcome 144 of the world’s best golfers in their attempt to move on to the LPGA. Local charities also benefit having a tournament such as the FUTURES tour come to your area. You will see excellent golf and work with various local charities that will help the Richmond community for years to come.

IMPACT Venture are partnered with Richmond Country Club to improve the environment so the IMPACT Classic will make this event “green” by printing tickets on recycled paper using recycling bins for bottles and cans. The course also uses stewardship measures in irrigation from runoff and ponds. The course management staff under direction of Greg McCue has constructed birdhouses in specific areas for nesting. The also sought the advise from Environmental Institute of Golf an organization of Golf Course Superintendents Association.

The IMPACT Classic has a volunteer force of 15 committees with more than 200 dedicated people. Volunteers are essential in running a successful golf tournament. Sponsors of Golf tournaments make the event such as Comfort Inn, Goodland County Virginia, Morgan Keegan, Arby’s, Eagle Construction and Ameriprise and all of these good companies are helpful to the many charities given out during this event.

The Pro-Am’s will be held on two days with Wednesday August 12th at 1:00 a.m. and on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. Sign up for these events by checking out their web site at www.impactclassic.com . These are the type of events to get involved with in your community. It enhances the community and you get to play with watch excellent young women participate in a golf tournament.
