Time to Plan for Tournament Gifts

Time to Plan for Tournament Gifts
We have been making our plans for the several tournaments my partner and I are working on this year. We have mini tournament each month and a few bigger ones scatter in between. Sometimes its hard to come up with something different to use as gifts as the gals entering usually have most golf equipment so it is a hassle to come of with that unique gift that all can appreciate.

I have covered before about the clip on ball marker and I have given these on several different events. I find that I like different one for each of my golf visors so they match whatever I am wearing. Try to check out several golf accessories web sites and you will find a variety of ball markers from the plain plastic one to the bejeweled ones that the gals really like. Ball markers are something we all need and it helps if they are in a handy place so you don’t have to dig one out of your pocket filled with other items. One web site to check out is "thegolfpeople.com" for many unique gift ideas.

A new gimmick I saw recently was a shoe charm and I thought that was cute. They are small and usually have only one charm on a chain with a clip that attaches to your shoe strings. I thought it would make a cute zipper charms which also would work as a golf gift if the charm had something to do with golf. I was sent one by Norm Sheya when he contacted me in my email. He has the web site "hatsandandmore.com" where he sells mostly visors but his jewelry is very nice and the shoe charm was listed. I also in my crafty days have worked with making necklaces and bracelets so making these shoe or zipper charms would make a very unique golf gift. Check out any hobby shop in their bead department.

My partner Janet Gravette does quilting and she had lots of fabric left over so she made the cutest little bags with a draw string. Her husband travels often and collects the toiletry items so she put these in the draw string bags. They will make a nice table gift for any golf event and you could add any item such as candy, crackers or even tees and a ball. You could even fill them with first aid items to keep handy in your golf bag.

Check with any of your craft stores or gift shops you may often come up with something different. This is what we are using since one of our members works for a gift shop and they had jeweled tin gift boxes very reasonable and are very colorful. They can be filled with mints or candy and will work for a table prize. I also would suggest check out antique stores or consignment shops and you may come up with something very different to use as a gift. They don’t all need to be the same as your guest may switch around if they like.

We also are having an interclub two day event in April where our gals will go to a nearby golf club and they will come to our club the next day. I found a neat little trophy that has will depict both of our clubs as Star Ranch and Mill Creek. The trophy shows a star and what looks like the bridge over our creek. We will use this as a traveling trophy whoever wins the two day event can keep the trophy until the next year.

Do your research if you are looking for something different to use as golf prizes you also will have fun thinking up new things to surprise your guests.
