I am often drawn into conversations about wardrobe building. Then I inevitably hear, "But it's so hard to know what to wear," at certain times of the year. This is especially true when winter wanes, and spring is fresh, as summer shimmers on the horizon. Therefore, let us look at a few wardrobe staples -- some that you most likely already own. These will most assuredly carry us through the springtime, summer, and beyond.
A crisp white blouse is key. Versatile, an ethnic beauty can wear this in a variety of ways. Buttoned and paired with pearls, one is instantly interview-ready. Or worn partially or completely open over a spaghetti strap dress, those who want their arms covered will be sufficiently adorned. Worn over a tank top or a cami in the color of your choosing, one can show some skin. This look, buttoned midway, will suffice for the office; however, unbuttoned, with the 'girlz' pushed up, and a few dabs or a spritz of sultry perfume, one can slip into a sizzling evening.
A flattering skirt, and a nice pair of jeans that fit the largest part and fall straight down from there will serve any ethnic beauty well. The skirt can be worn with the above white blouse, or it can be paired with a host of other tops. The jeans, if they are of a darker wash, will carry one from day into night. Add a little top, perhaps one bejeweled at the neckline, and a cute pair of shoes or sandals, and one is ready to dance the night away. Both the skirt and the jeans will see lovely ladies through a host of things, such as doctor visits, parent teacher conferences, lunch with friends, or that meeting -- with the potential in-laws.
One can never go wrong with a satin cami[sole] or a lace trimmed bra. Peeking from beneath your white shirt, these say you're not just all work and no play. They also showcase your feminine side, and aid an ethnic beauty to feel pretty, without extensive fuss. A shiny hoop earring, maybe one with rhinestones or diamonds encrusted, will add Beyonce-esque bling; for me, the bigger the better, but go for the size that you like. Great tip: when traveling, wear these alone, and skip other jewelry, even your watch. Your cell phone's got the time. Then in the airport, if necessary, you'll have the hoops alone to divest of.
A snazzy shoe or sandal, preferably in a neutral color -- say: taupe, tan, navy, black, brown, bronze, or even gold will take a girl many places. When looking for style and the heel height of your choice, also check for comfort. Nothing is less stylish than limping along, in pain. And for those of us who suffer from ball of the foot aches, why not try gel inserts for footwear. You may never want to take those cutesie tootsies out of that sexy shoe again!
A nail file is needed as well, to keep fingernails all uniformly shaped. Then brush on clear nail polish for added shine. This can be done for natural nails or those that have been manicured, for a freshened-up look. Don't forget the shimmering powder or bronzer, for a healthy glow. Now you're ready to meet the spring, the summer, and beyond. Don't forget to smile, beautiful woman; then grab your backpack, your tote, or your purse -- take along one of my racy novels too, and go!
