Who Needs Shapewear

Guest Author - April Alisa Marquette

I know that in the recent past we have taken a look at what we wear beneath our clothing, brassieres in particular, however, there are other items of the sort that I would like to discuss. Shhh ... don't tell anyone, but we ought to take a peek at your underwear. Why, you're probably thinking. Well, I'll tell you. You may need shapewear. To determine this, we'll have to take a look at what you have, and don't have in your collection. We should also look at what you could use, and what you absolutely need. See? Painless; and the reason we should discuss these things is because as women who are beautiful inside, shouldn't our outsides also reflect the same?

The truth for women is: as we age, our lives and our lovely bodies change. They do so as we gain and or lose weight, as we have babies or not, as we exercise or not, as we have surgical procedures, medical or cosmetic. As our hormones fluctuate, as we triumph, and grieve -- experiencing all these things and more, cause our bodies to change. Therefore, why shouldn’t our undergarments also? Sure you know that underthings for a budding adolescent differ from those that are needed by a flowering twenty something. So by the same token, the shapewear needed by a woman in full bloom will differ from the underpinnings needed when the petals begin to droop, or fall.

Sexy lingerie is super, and I am all for it, but if we're going to be honest, some of us also need support. Beneath our A-line or pencil skirts, beneath those slacks, jeans, or that outfit that has a touch of lycra, ladies, some of us need smoothing. Others can do with a bit of shaping, minimizing, plumping, or holding. I know I'm not the only one who has had things in her closet that she's longingly eyed. Perhaps you too have a clingy dress that you'd like to wear to an upcoming affair. Maybe it seems you can't zip it that last few inches though, over those love handles that 'magically' appeared. Or maybe you need to better fill out those pants. Well let me whisper this. I've got a way to help get you into your desired outfit. That is if it's not two or more sizes too small, or vice versa. You'll also be able to close it, and breathe, comfortably!

In the same way that we discussed hoisting, smoothing, and shaping our bazooms, let us do the same for our ba-donk-a-donks. If you've been blessed with a lovely 'following' like many ethnic beauties, or like say ... Angela Bassett or Jennifer Lopez; or if you have very little to no junk in your trunk, there are shapewear items for you. If your waist or your thighs need whittling, or should you want a non-surgical tummy tuck... Whatever your shapewear desires, let's address them. Then when it's time for you to get glam, there will be no more dithering. No more standing in the closet sighing, wishing, and hoping. Due to our upcoming shapewear series, a whole new wardrobe of possibilities may open up, because who needs shapewear? You do -- We all do!
