Lush Products

Guest Author - April Alisa Marquette

I recently came across something that caught my eye --Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics. The first thing I noticed was that these offerings appeared edible. Some looked just like homemade cupcakes while others resembled the most decadent chocolate. They also smelled divine, stimulating my olfactory nerves as well as nearly causing me to salivate. Therefore, as a foodie, you know I had to take a closer look, do a little perusal.

In speaking with the manager of that particular location, I found out quite a few things. Then upon conducting a little further research, I learned what I am about to share with you. Lush Cosmetics hand makes their products, from essential oils and what they term safe synthetics. This means they use little to no preservatives when creating their bath, shower, skin, baby, and hair care products for both male and female. What I like is that they also use vegetarian ingredients, and that they allow buyers to know when a product was made.

Lush makes shower gels and jellies which can be used, not only at room temperature, but they can also be chilled or frozen, for a more sensory based cleansing experience --whoo-hoo! These delectable creations – unlike any others that you may have tried, can be crumbled, sliced, or squeezed, and massaged over one's body. The bubble bars for the bath are unbelievably fragrant and easily disintegrate under running water. Now I have to tell you, when running a bath, I get frustrated when the bubbles aren't forthcoming, or when they don't last, or when the fragrance fades! However, with these solid creations that have minimal packaging -- for earth friendly reasons -- that is not the case. As soon as water hits them, even while in an ethnic beauty's hand, they begin to really bubble, fizz or foam. There are bath bombs, melts, deodorants, bottled and bar shampoos, and extra creamy conditioners. Try the shower ‘Emotibombs,’ and fall in love. Simply place the one of your choice on your shower floor for a quick aroma-fix when hit by the shower spray. Use it repeatedly!

Lush Cosmetics caters to men too. Products for them also include shaving creams and balms -- but get this. Ladies the same is available for you, because who doesn't occasionally notice unwanted hair? One shaving treatment smells scintillatingly like the elusive orange blossom. There are a host of other yummy treats, but don’t eat them. For the body, these treats may be found worldwide, online too. In the U.S. Lush Cosmetics are often in malls, in Macy's department stores.

While trying out these luscious treats remember, one of the manufacturer's major interests is caring – about people, animals, and our planet. At their website, sign up for their newsletter. See and read about the real people who comprise and use Lush. Read all about 'green' efforts and the battle that the company is waging against carbon emissions; then get involved. With the hundreds of handmade products offered, surely you can find yourself in Lush too, or give a gift, aid someone you know to indulge.
