In "The Jungle Book 2", we find that Mowgli now lives in his new man village. However, he misses his good pal, Baloo, who also misses Mowgli. Restless with his new life, Mowgli returns to the freedom of the jungle, leaving behind his new girlfriend, Shante. Shante is afraid of the dangerous wild animals that Mowgli feels comfortable around in the village. But once Mowgli returns, his old nemesis, a tiger named Shere Khan, decides to plot his revenge on Mowgli. It's up to Mowgli's old friends to help him prevent Khan from getting his lethal claws into Mowgli.

Though this film does not easily live up to its predecessor, it has some new entertaining tunes by Lorraine Feather and Paul Grabowsky, especially the "Jungle Rhythm" tune. The "Bare Necessities" song from the original "Jungle Book", which is also included in the film, is performed by John Goodman, who does an incredible job with his Baloo voicings.

However, with "Bare Necessities" and the "Jungle Rhythms" being performed numerous times, it leaves you feeling that there isn't quite enough content to make the film feature length. Before you know it the film is done and over with and, still, not much has really happened at all. But, of course, the theme-based film does leave behind deep, emotional impact on the audience as Mowgli fulfils his most desired quest.
