Kangaroo Jack

Kangaroo Jack

Jerry O'Connell portrays New York hairdresser Charlie Carbone, whose best friend Louis Fucci (played by Anthony Anderson), are both struggling to make a better life for themselves. Ever since Louis saved Charlie's life 20 years earlier, Louis's optimism and bad luck has gotten them entangled in a series of never-ending get-rich-quick schemes. This has ultimately affected to way in which Charlies' stepfather, mob boss Sal Maggio (Christopher Walken), looks at him. One big gigantic loser. Charlie, being more skeptical and more low profile than Louis, just wants to play by the rules, make a success of his business and meet the just the right girl. But, once again, Louis and Charlie run into a bit more bad luck when they escort a truckload of stolen televisions across town and inadvertently lead police to right to Sal's warehouse. In order to make ammends and redeem themselves, Sal has Charlie and Louis deliver $50,000 cash to the mysterious Mr. Smith in the Australian Outback. However, while down under, the pair speed through the wilderness and accidentally hit a kangaroo. Charlie and Louis assume that the kangaroo is dead and begin taking souvenir pictures with it. Unfortunately, it's when Louis decides to dress the kangaroo in his lucky red jacket, which coincidentally contains the $50,000 in the pocket, they find out that the kangaroo is not dead at all. It escapes with the jacket and its contents. From this point on, the film chronicles Charlie and Louis's quest to retrieve the money from the very uncooperative kangaroo, with the help of wildlife specialist Estella Warren, before Sal's henchmen get ahold of them. Anthony

Anderson is energetic in his wacky antics, making him and O'Connell a funny and entertaining team to watch. Adults might find it difficult to stay conscious during the "Kangaroo Jack", but the Nickelodoen crowd will definitely get their share of laughs.
