If you’ve braved the sales already the smart shoppers amongst you will have returned with a brilliant selection of well-fitting bargains with your receipts carefully filed away somewhere safe. Most of us, however, are less familiar with sales etiquette and are perhaps suffering with shopping elbow, surrounded by a few things you’ll probably only wear once (or never). Be a successful sales shopper this year and check out this useful guide to finding the best buys on the high street:
QUICK TIP: Shop siesta style this summer, rising early for the best choice on opening and returning later in the evening to make the most of any further reductions – what better excuse to enjoy a leisurely lunch whilst everyone else battles with the crowds during the day?
DEMISE OF THE SMOCK
Be warned ladies, the comfortable, billowing smock top that hides all our lumps and bumps so perfectly could be on its way out. We all loved it when smock dresses and tops made their mark on this summer’s fashion scene – loose, cool and flattering, this bohemian staple could soon be replaced by a figure-hugging scoop neck, high waisted pencil skirts or super-tight shift. Worried? Don’t be, Body Con is set to be a huge trend for autumn but there are plenty of ways you can wear this look without breathing in too much:
THE WOMEN’S FASHION BAROMETRE OF COOL: Summer Feet
Women’s Fashion LOVES: Coral Nail Polish
Colour blocking is big this summer and make no exceptions with your feet! Choose a gorgeous coral shade – pink’s sexier sister and way more fun than a serious red. Slick over well-pedicured toes and pull on some strappy sandals.
Women’s Fashion LOATHES: Summer Feet Ache
Wedges hurt the balls of your feet, the sling backs rub your heels, the pumps leave blisters – and sweaty, sticky feet make the whole situation ten times worse.
