Welcome to the November 24th edition of the BellaOnline Anime newsletter!


Here are the headlines to come out of the anime industry since the last newsletter:

  • NIS America has announced that the company has licensed the Working!! television anime series. The company will release the entire 13-episode series with English subtitles under the title Wagnaria!! in March 2011. The DVD set will include a hardcover art book and a collector's case.
  • Disney has announced that the company will be releasing Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind in a Blu-Ray Disc combo pack in the United States on March 8, 2011. The pack will include the film on Blu-Ray and DVD. as well as documentary extras and an interview with Miyazaki. Tales From Earthsea, which was directed by Goro Miyazaki, will ship on DVD on the same day.
  • Media Blasters has announced that the company will be releasing the first Blu-Ray set for Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit in February 2011.
  • FUNimation Entertainment has announced their anime Blu-Ray releases for February and March 2011. February 1 will see the release of the Chobits Complete Box Set, February 8 will see the release of of the FLCL Season Set, February 15 will be the release of Summer Wars, and February 22 will see the release of Ga Rei: Zero - The Complete Series. March 1 will see the release of Samuari Champloo - Complete Series, March 15 will see the release of Soul Eater Part 1-2, March 22 will see the release of Eden of the East the Movie I: The King of Eden and Shigurui: Death Frenzy - Complete Series, and March 29 will see the release of Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance and Yu Yu Hakusho - Season 1 Complete Set.
  • It has been announced that the Yu-Gi-Oh! 3D: Bonds Beyond Time will be shown in about 250 theaters in the United States on February 26 and 27, 2011. It will also be shown in theaters on March 5 and 6, 2011. To commemorate the worldwide opening, the film will return to Japanese theaters on February 26, and will add in ten minutes of 2D special footage. There are also plans to release the film in Europe and Asia afterwards.
  • It has been announced that the Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance film will be shown in theaters across North America in January 2011.
  • PlaySpan has joined into a partnership with FUNimation Entertainment to sell hundreds of the company's anime shows on PlaySpan Marketplace. The shows can be previewed for the first minute for free, and then are available for a week of unlimited streaming for $0.99. Some of the shows being offered include Devil May Cry, Air Gear, Baccano!, Darker Than BLACK, Gunslinger Girl, Negima, Shuffle!, and Soul Eater.
