Hi from cold but sparkling south central Alaska! What a fine winter day it is! Well, OK ... so it is really COLD (6F at noon today), the firewood seems to get heavier by the day, shoveling snow gets a little tiresome at times and dreams of spring seem so very, very far away.

Still ... there is just no place quite as beautiful! On a clear, cold day like this one, I can see Denali from our north-facing deck. As the sun drops lower in the sky, the distant mountain peak is bathed in a salmon pink/orange glow. Wow. Just spectacular.
