October 12 2008 Alaska Newsletter

Dear Readers,

I’ve been in northern Virginia this past week. When we left Alaska, there were several inches of snow on the ground at home (which has since melted), the trees were bare, and winter was definitely making itself known. Here though, the trees are just starting to show a bit of fall color, flowers are still in bloom, and the weather has been sunny and warm. Quite a contrast to Alaska.

Getting away for a bit is always nice, but I always look forward to going home. Winter is a great time to curl up with books, too. So here are a couple of suggestions if you’re looking for some good winter reading.

Have a great week.

Kimi
