Dear Readers,
After returning home overnight, I made the 5 hour drive back to Anchorage to get on a plane to Denver, CO. The contrast in scenery I’ve scene in the last two weeks is amazing. At home the days are short and the nights long, with temps just above freezing, a small amount of snow on the ground, and bare, sparse trees. Here in Colorado it is still green and I’ve been wishing for a pair of shorts (temps in the high sixties are like the height summer for me). There are still sunflowers blooming out in the fields and bare lots around my auntie’s house!
The traveling has allowed me to check out some new accommodations and restaurants, so you’ll be seeing a number of reviews in the upcoming weeks. I also got a chance to watch the Discovery Channel’s new reality show on the Iditarod. We don’t have TV at home, so I was thrilled that my travels coincided with the premier of this series. If you’re interested in the Iditarod at all, it shows on Tuesday and Friday evenings. Let me know what you think!
Have a great week,
Kimi
