The first snows have already fallen in Germany, so it is time to replace the usual cold cuts and cheese for something a little more warming for breakfast.

And one of the most popular dishes on these chilly mornings, especially at weekends when there is more time, is a Bauernfruehstueck, a Farmer's Breakfast. And this week's article has a recipe to try.

A German "Bauernfruehstueck", Farmer's Breakfast, has many variations but is basically a large hash of potatoes, ham or bacon and onions, which, especially in the colder months, not only makes a delicious and popular addition to a breakfast table but is a welcome, and quickly prepared, meal at any time of the day.

And this week's Word of the Week is PAPPERLAPAPP

This is used when something pointless or inaccurate has been said, it could almost be translated as "rubbish".

So if someone says "It is going to rain any minute now". Then a possible answer could be "Papperlappapp. It is 85 degrees out there, and the weather forecast says it is going to become even hotter".
