Here's the latest article from the Alaska site at BellaOnline.com. I guess I've been watching too much local news. Every so often, the topic comes up that keeping the State Capital down on the Panhandle of Alaska in Juneau is ridiculous in this day and age. It would be a joke if it weren't so serious. So anyway, I thought I'd combine this issue with some interesting history on Juneau. I hope you enjoy it!
Juneau - Alaska's Inaccessible Capital
Quite a few of Alaska’s cities and many of our National natural treasures are inaccessible by road – our State Capitol, Juneau, being one of them. Juneau is the only State Capital in the United States that can only be accessed by air or by boat. This is just fine with Alaska’s Legislators.
