I'm slowly building my next trip to Alaska. The more I delve into the Scenic Byways and what to visit along the way, the more I'm sure it will be a trip I've crafted on my own. Nothing against the tours and cruises I've already experienced, but the next trip will be done at my own pace. And it will include a lot of the Scenic Byways of Alaska...like the Glenn Highway.

If a trip to Alaska has you building your own itinerary, you will more than likely fly into Anchorage. There is plenty to do in this bustling city, but once you’ve rented your car or RV and are ready to hit the road, you can start out by heading north on the Glenn Highway.
