Well, spring is finally here! The trees are leafing out beautifully, the grass is getting more green by the day and the sound of Canadian geese overhead is a near daily occurance.
I love this time of year. The migratory birds have returned! Sea birds, shore birds, song birds, raptors and water fowl ... after a winter of chickadees, nuthatches and Bald eagles, it is wonderful to see such variety once again.

Alaska is the destination and spring/summer nesting grounds for a huge number of migratory birds from all up and down North and South America and even Asia and Africa. Alaska is home to a minimum of at least 470 different bird species, with over half of them being migratory.
