The snow is nearly gone in the lower areas of south central Alaska now but still clinging to the surrounding mountains. Our trees are thinking about budding but will probably need one good rain before we see much in the way of green. Spring in Alaska is honestly a time of ... brown.
On the other hand, it is a time of beautiful sunrises and sunsets this time of year! I have to enjoy them now since they will soon be happening only in the "middle of the night"! With each passing season, we trade off good aspects for bad and vise-versa. There is always something wonderful going on in Alaska.
Right now is the time for anticipation as many people look forward to a trip to Alaska! Where to go? What to see? So many choices!
