Dear Readers,
July has been a rainy and cool month here. As a neighbor commented last week, during another cool and overcast day (highs in the low 50s F), "I think summer is over."
I hope we have some sunny warm days to come, but we are definitely moving towards fall. The fireweed is blooming (it's usually one of the last) and we are accumulating "night" at a noticeable rate. Soon berries will be ripe for picking and a first frost will follow shortly after. How quickly the summer days go by!
