August 10 2010 Alaska Newsletter

I friends,

I just finished updating my Alaska site; replacing some articles with more current ones. Summer has been spinning by at a whirlwind pace.

With the State Fairs here in Alaska in full swing, I thought you might enjoy the article about our unique series of State Fairs. You'll find it now featured on the main Alaska site page.

Anchorage's famous summer highlight, "Wild Salmon on Display" is also running strong. These fantastic pieces of Alaskan art are still on public display throughout the downtown area of Anchorage but will be moved in a couple more weeks to the Palmer State Fairgrounds for a final two weeks before being aunctioned off at a fun charity "Fish Dinner" for lucky ticket-holders.

The end of the Palmer State Fair (the last of Alaska's State Fairs) in early September also brings to mind that summer is quickly winding down and fall is approaching. The Fireweed blooms are already topping out in many areas (yikes!) ... if you don't remember what this means, check out the article on Fireweed on the Alaska site.
