Hi folks,
Here's the latest article from the Alaska site at BellaOnline.com.
Sourdough Starters
Sourdough bread - the history behind this Alaskan legend, where and how it got its name and how you can make your own!

I will be following up this article with one containing recipes and more tips on how to get started (no pun intended) and keep your sourdough starter happy and healthy, so if any of you have really good "sourdough" recipes, please share them with me!

I've been attending our Alaska State Fair in Palmer, AK this week (volunteering every day - ALL week!) and will be posting some hopefully awesome photos in the next few days. I will put them up on the Alaska Forum, so pop over there to check them out. Not tonight - it will be a couple of days before I get them downloaded, re-sized and ready to show - but I've been busily snapping away. Alaska has a State Fair like no other and I look forward to sharing it with you.
By the way; I had a great "bread-bowl chili" for lunch at the fair today - the chili was served up in it's own totally edible sourdough bread "bowl"! It was yummy!
I hope to hear from each of you sometime soon, either in the forum or in response to this email message. I thrive on your feedback! Keep it up!
Have fun passing this message along to family and friends, too - it is lots of fun hearing from "new friends", too. Spread the word - Alaska is the coolest place around!
