Organic Beer - Going Green for the Earth
Go green, young man, go green! is the new phrase of advice for the youth of our planet. Although I remember this adage from my grandmother and great aunts, as they grew their own vegetables and put up (as they called it)everything from peaches and jellies to corn and spaghetti sauce, I seem to have...

Beer Fox Tip of the Week
If you are preparing to travel to another country, use the Oxford Companion to Beer, edited by Garrett Oliver with assistance by Horst Dornbusch, as a guide. The section on drinking customs, written by Roger Protz, outlines a brief synopsis of both old and modern traditions that can keep you from becoming an "ugly American" in another culture. For example, in China, "drinkers cause offense if they switch beverages: if a toast is made with beer, then beer must continue to be the chosen drink." Beer in Britain and Australia is bought in "rounds" or "shouts." American craft brewers are expected to offer hospitality to visiting fellow brewers (a tour and a beer), even if the visiting brewer is completely unexpected.
Beer Fox Laugh of the Week
Beer thoughts:
- Coffee keeps me busy until it's acceptable to drink beer.
- I tried cooking dinner with beer tonight...didn't go so well. After 5 glasses, I forgot why I was even in the kitchen.
- It doesn't matter whether the glass is half full or half empty. There is clearly room for more beer, so top it off!
- I drink beer because I don't like to keep things bottled up.
- I tried to drown my sorrows but the bastards learned how to swim.
- Beer... cheaper than Botox and paralyzes more muscles.
- The secret of enjoying good beer: 1) Open the bottle and allow it to breathe. 2) If it does not look like it's breathing, give it mouth-to-mouth.

Craft Beer of the Week Award
Angry Birds Belgian Rye IPA - Haymarket Pub and Brewery, Chicago, Illinois, USA
Belgian IPA (American Belgo) 7.5% ABV
The golden yellow body and creamy head of froth emits aromas of bread, spice and earthy yeast. Florals and orange sit in the shadows. On the palate, honey, bubblegum, and fresh bread merge with a zesty lemon/orange zing, spiciness, light florals and earth. Fresher than springtime, but spicy like a Flamenco dancer in heat. Truly inspiring!
Cheers!
