QUOTE FOR THE WEEK

"What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though."
--- J.D. Salinger

EDITOR-RECOMMENDED BOOK

It's that time when I get to recommend what book I should read this time! My recommended book for me this month is 'Americanah' by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, the Nigerian novelist and author of 'Purple Hibiscus' and 'Half of a Yellow Sun'. I have read so many reviews about her new book - mostly positive ones - and I'm hoping to get my hands on it this week via Amazon. I will certainly be writing a review on it when I'm done, although it might be a little while coming given the amount of reviews I'm yet to write up. Nevertheless I'm excited about purchasing it, and I trust that it will blow my mind like Adichie's other works have!

Read it with me if you'd like, get it here - http://www.amazon.com/Americanah-Chimamanda-Ngozi-Adichie/dp/0307271080. Enjoy!

EDITOR-RECOMMENDED RANDOM FUN ACTIVITY

Visit a street fair this weekend. Find out what's going on in your neighborhood: street event, fair, festival, or parade, and make a decision to attend one. The food is cheap, there are always all sorts of craft and art displays, and variety of entertainment for everyone. It's currently the onset of summer for some of us where we're located, which means there are tons of outdoor activities always going on throughout this season up until the end of Fall. It's the season of sunshine, fun times and great memories with family and friends, so let's commit to take a loved one, spouse, friends, or whoever we wish to take, out this weekend to a street event. Do it. This weekend. And enjoy it!
