Winter Tourist Season in Alaska
More than 300,000 people flock to Alaska in the wintertime. The most often quoted reasons for visiting Alaska in winter include winter sports, Aurora viewing and the Iditarod Sled Dog Race.

The recent cold snap and snow here in Alaska prompted me to write about all the great things to be seen and done in winter. Sometimes we get so focused on how darn cold can be (it got down to -24F here at my house last week and way colder than that in Fairbanks and beyond), we forget that winter is also an awesome time to be outdoors as long as you are prepared for the elements.

Temperatures have moderated back to normal and since we are getting a couple more minutes of daylight each day now, it's time to get back outside and play!
