GERMANY'S FAIRY TALE ROAD is the subject of German Culture's latest article.


The Fairy Tale Road in Germany is an entrance to a world of fantasy, sagas, myths and legends, which follows in the footsteps of the Brothers Grimm as they collected the tales that eventually ended up in their 'Fairy Tale Collections'.

It travels through thick forests, past stunning scenery, awe inspiring castles, gloomy battlements and medieval villages, many of which would still be recognisable to a time traveler from the 19th century.

Thought I would add a quirky German word for you to learn this week, and it is

VOLLTREFFER

Which means: Bull's eye! You have accomplished your goal, whether it was landing a great contract at work, succeeding with a recipe you have never tried before, or acing at a sport. Whatever it was you scored a 'Volltreffer', or literally a 'full strike'. So it is something to celebrate.
