Japan’s catastrophic tsunami with the heartbreaking effect it has had on its people, and the subsequent damage to the Fukushima reactors, has been in the headlines across the world.

The problems with the Fukushima nuclear reactors have brought about demonstrations in the streets and a partial nuclear shutdown in Germany, just months after the government officially decided to prolong the life of the country’s nuclear industry, against the wishes of the strong anti-nuclear lobby.
