‘Fabergé Revealed’ – Peabody Essex Museum
Seventeen years after the 'Fabergé in America' exhibit, I was delighted to see a special Fabergé exhibit at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA from the collection of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. I’ll discuss my favorites from both exhibits.

Matisse, Chagall, & Paul Housberg - Glass Artists
Henry Matisse and Marc Chagall were 20th century artists who painted stained glass. Fast forward to the 21st century - architectural glass artist Paul Housberg designs an art installation for a prominent Boston hospital. I’ll discuss their works in glass with an emphasis on color and light.

Artist James Turrell Exhibit - Guggenheim NYC
In the summer of 2013, for the first time, three US museum shows are dedicated to the same artist - James Turrell. I’ll discuss his interview with Charlie Rose on Bloomberg TV and his take on art and light.

Johnny Depp Uses I am Crow Image in Lone Ranger
The Disney movie 'The Lone Ranger' was released July 2013, starring Johnny Depp as Tonto. The concept for Tonto’s headdress and makeup was based on a painting by Kirby Sattler. I’ll discuss this painting and also, a 19th century artist known for painting Native Americans.

American Author John Updike - Essays on Art
John Updike’s book 'Always Looking' was written posthumously in 2012. Best known for his fiction and reviews, these 'Essays on Art' are an honest approach to art by an author I most admire. I’ll discuss the author himself and the art exhibits mentioned in the book.

The canal district of Amsterdam in the Netherlands celebrates 400 years in 2013. The Rijksmuseum has undergone ten years of renovation and restoration. I’ll discuss the major museums of Amsterdam.
