About the BellaOnline Senior Living Editor

Welcome to Senior Living at BellaOnline. I´m a Midwesterner native to northeast Ohio, a writer, editor and publicist with nearly two decades of journalism experience in Ohio. I have a lifetime of “herstory” behind me and I´m only half-way through it. (My baby brother intends to celebrate his 100th birthday on New Year´s Day 2061. He expects me to attend that party. I will be 106-1/2.) I celebrated my “Purple-3” birthday recently, and my spin on it is, “Purple is power and women need to recognize how much power they have. We don’t get older, we get better!”

Currently I´m a “rose between two thorns” at the place where I can see where I have been and my daughters are now (struggling to learn whom and why they are) and the place where I´m going and where my mother is now (in the later chapters of her life.)

There is a lot of interesting ‘stuff’ out there and I´m excited to share as much of it as I can. A perpetual and independent student, I´m always chasing after something else I need (or want) to know. As the sayings go: 1.) There is a whole new life after children and 2.) Life is just what we make it.

My interests include reading, writing, walking, riding bicycles on the nearby hike/bike trail, crocheting, quilting, knitting, camping, traveling, baking, cooking, gardening, and learning new things. I am faith and family-oriented: a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend in a world that is often crazy and where people need to know that they are not alone, that there are others who understand what they are going through at any time and be comforted that “Yes, Virginia, the sun is going to rise again tomorrow.”

I hope you´ll sign up for the Senior Living newsletter on this site so you´ll receive notification each time I put up another article. I tend to write in threes so you´ll miss alot if you miss one issue of the Senior Living newsletter. Your feedback is really important to me. A reader said she hopes the site will be built up. Your feedback will help me to do just that.
