Valentine's Day inevitably gets people thinking about love and relationships; either the ones they have, or those they wish they had. Here are some prompts to get you writing through your relationships.
February 12th - This week is Random Act of Kindness Week. A random act of kindness is that unexpected, thoughtful thing that you do for somebody, often a stranger, just to "pay it forward". Have you ever been the recipient of a random act of kindness? Describe the situation and how it made you feel.
Have you ever been able to perform a random act of kindness for someone else? Once when I was in college, we were having a lot of trouble with the phone lines in our dorm. The phone company finally sent two guys out to fix the problem and it turned out to be much more complicated than anticipated. Those poor men were outside in the freezing, dark night trying to get everything up and running for us so my roommate and I made them hot chocolate. It made us feel good to do something nice for them, even though we never ever knew their names.
February 13th - Do you have any special plans for Valentine's Day? Write about a memorable Valentine's Day you've experienced in the past.
February 14th - Some people struggle with the commercialism of Valentine's Day, while others appreciate the reminder to celebrate their loved ones. What are your feelings about Valentine's Day? Why?
February 15th - My mom had a saying when we were growing up. She used to tell us to "Choose your love and love your choice" when it came to our relationships. What does that mean to you?
February 16th - "When you're in love with someone, it inspires you and gives you hope. You have faith that even if you can't be with them on earth, that if God wills, you will be with them one day in heaven." ~ Unknown

For me, my husband has inspired me to be a more beautiful person. In many, many ways. He's given me the confidence to express myself without fear.
My colleagues have inspired me to embrace a career in writing that I never would have dreamed possible just a few years ago. I never considered myself a writer and started out very small, as a forum for expression on a topic I was passionate about. Through my inspiring friends I was encouraged to branch out into other topics, subjects and forms of writing!
February 17th - Let's turn yesterday's question around. How are other people inspired and filled with hope as a result of knowing you?
February 18th - If Love were a person what he or she look like to you? Write an interview with Love in your journal. Ask them that one burning question you've always wondered about Love and listen to the response you receive.
