Arabinogalactan - ImmunEnhancer and SugarsA number of manufacturers have come out with sugar supplements - sporting names such as glyconutrients and Arabinogalactan. What do they contain? ImmunEnhancer Manufactured by Larex, ImmunEnhancer provides your daily intake of Arabinogalactan, the primary ingredient in Ambrotose. It's also less than half the cost of Ambrotose. ImmunEnhancer Details $15.75/jar for 30 day supply 500mg/capsule 3 times a day Note that at 1500mg/day of ImmunEnhancer, you are getting far more of the primary ingredient than with Ambrotose. You are probably only getting 150mg/day of the arabinogalactan in the Ambrotose. So you get a full 10 times the amount of arabinogalactan by taking ImmunEnhancer instead of Ambrose. My other research does seem to indicate that the 1500mg/day (what ImmunEnhancer provides) is closer to the proper dosage. Of course you don't get the aloe vera etc. in this straight-arabinogalactan supplement and would have to take additional vitamins for the full sugar coverage. But do you need arabinogalactan? Why is it the #1 ingredient in both of these supplements? Arabinogalactan is in essence made up of galactose and arabinose sugars. Galactose is found naturally in milk and dairy products as well as in primary low carb veggies such as broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts and eggplant. So out of the 8 essential sugars we need, this isn't something most low carbers really have to worry about "supplementing"!! Most any doctor and nutritionist will tell you that the best way to get any nutrient is fresh from the source, from the vegetable or natural item which contains it. Make sure veggies like broccoli and eggplant are part of your daily meal plan. Arabinose isn't even on the essential 8 listing. It's in essence a gum sugar, as in arabic gum.
