Visit Bryan Collier’s website to view the many books illustrated by the young Illustrator. Mr. Collier’s illustrations grace the books, Rosa and Martin’s Big Words. His illustrations are a combination of watercolors and collage. He uses a warm palette to create his paintings.

Bryan Collier grew up in Pocomoke, Maryland. Later, he attended Pratt Institute in New York City, USA. As well as doing book illustrations, he does art pieces, murals and writes. Bryan Collier is the winner of many awards. One of his awards, culminated with an art exhibit in the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., USA. There have been several other exhibitions before and since.

Mr. Collier’s murals are in the DVD, “Above the Rim.” Tupac Shakur and Marlon Waymans star in the basketball movie. Children’s Books Review Editor does not recommend the movie to children less than twelve. There are drugs and crime in the film. Parents can look for the murals while watching the film.

Children’s Books Review Editor does recommend allowing children to view the PBS Sesame Street episode “Speedy Van Go.” The episode stars Robert Townsend as “Speedy Van Go.” Speedy is the fastest painter in the world. Readers who viewed Townsend in the film, “Meteor Man,” knows how funny Townsend is with his pace increased by special effects.
