School is out and the summer is upon us. For Girl Scouts, that means downtime. Girls can attend either daycamp or overnight camp, but troops generally do not meet when school isn't in session. For older girls working on their Bronze, Silver, or Gold awards, this is a good time to work on projects that require a lot of time and attention. For leaders, this is a good time to regroup and plan ahead for the upcoming year. Paperwork can be organized to streamline the registration process in the Fall and a tentative calendar of events for the Fall can be outlined.
A "Welcome Back" event for the Fall can also be planned, such as a pool party, a family picnic, a movie night, a skate party, or any other fun-filled activity to get your girls back into the swing of things.
Most importantly, take the summer break as a time to recharge your batteries!
