Psychic protection is really more about energy management. You, as an infinite being in a body, are every bit as powerful as any other energy. In fact, you are actually more powerful than negative energies because they are drawing from a limited source of energy. You, as a lightworker, draw from an Infinite Source of energy.
Personal experiences with negative energy and psychic attack
When I first got into holistic and energetic healing, I was very envious of the other healers who were so sensitive to energy that they couldn’t even bring themselves to go to crowded social events.
I soon found that when I’d work with my clients, I started picking up on their aches and pains. If my client had a headache, I’d get a headache. I started feeling their emotional pain too! It did not take me long to figure out that if I wanted to support the healing of my clients, I had to manage my own energy! This is when I discovered that the practice of grounding was very beneficial to my own well-being so that I could better serve others.
What I experienced as a psychic attack was a bit different. Where it became obvious to me that I should ground myself when I worked with other people, it didn’t occur to me to make it a daily practice, even when I wasn’t working.
When I first committed to my spiritual practice I started experiencing a very negative, dark, heavy energy that felt like it was draining me. I told one of my mentors about it, and she explained to me that if I commanded it to leave, it had to. However, I wasn’t feeling terribly confident that I could do that, but I was committed to freeing myself from that energy! The next time it happened, I called out to Archangel Michael, and the negative energy immediately dissipated. Over the next few years I did gain confidence to clear energy myself (though I do appreciate the ever-present companionship of my angels!).
Where can you pick up these negative energies?
Pretty much anywhere! You can pick up negative energy, or psychic debris, from people, or places. I’ve had clients who have been in accidents, and the trauma of the accident left them vulnerable. There are also people who purposefully send negative energy to other people by wishing them ill will because they feel jealousy or anger toward them.
So why do you need to practice healthy energy management?
Managing your energetic health is every bit as important as managing your physical health. When you forget to make your physical health a priority, this leaves you vulnerable to health issues. When you forget to make your energetic health a priority, you leave yourself vulnerable to negative energies and conflict.
Tips for Energetic Health and Well-Being
Choose to think positively. Positive thinking supports a healthy immune system, along with a healthy state of mind. It has been documented that people who are chronic negative thinkers tend to have compromised immunity.
Choose to hang out with positive minded people. Spending too much time with chronically negative people will drain you, no matter how much you do to support your well-being.
Spend time outside. Sunshine supports the body’s production of Vitamin D, and the time in nature recharges your energy field.
Commit to a daily spiritual practice of expressing gratitude, and sending blessings to others. This allows you to carry more light.
Tools for Energetic Health
Crystals are very popular among the new age crowd because of the lovely energy they carry, and there are many crystals that support psychic protection. Some of my favorites are Black Tourmaline, Citrine, Jasper, Garnet, Onyx, Pyrite, Obsidian, and Smoky Quartz.
Essential oils are also very popular when it comes to healthy energy management. Frankincense and Patchouli are probably the most popular oils for psychic protection, however Cedarwood, Cinnamon, Cyprus, Eucalyptus, Rose, and Sandalwood are also excellent choices. (Remember to consult an essential oil practitioner, and to follow safety guidelines when using essential oils).
Flower Essences are also very beneficial when it comes to energetic well-being. Rescue Remedy (by Bach Flowers), Aspen, Mimulus, and Walnut are popular remedies.
Healthy diet and exercise are necessary, not only for physical well-being, but for emotional well-being also. When you are in a state of emotional well-being, you are not as vulnerable to negative energies.
Meditation is also a powerful tool to help you find your peaceful center.
And then finally, consciously grounding and cleansing your own energy field will do wonders for helping you fend off any psychic debris.
Remember, you are an Infinite Being in a body; a powerful energetic being of light, more than capable of caring for your own energetic health and well-being at all times.
