Learn to Feel Good

If you’re like we are, the reason you eat is to feel good. Before you take that first bite, your desire is to feel good. Even if you end up eating addictive or physically destructive foods or you eat until you’re stuffed with more than your body needs for healthy maintenance, all you really want to do is to feel good. Isn’t that true?

Maybe you start out feeling bad – hungry, depressed, worried, anxious or afraid. If you feel bad, you eat to feel good. Or maybe you start out feeling good and you eat to feel better. Whatever the reason, if you consider yourself overweight or out of shape, you probably always eat to change the way you feel. You want a good or a better feeling. That’s understandable. And usually it works – for a little while.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to feel good. We want you to feel good too. The problem is, as you well know, following this pattern of eating eventually makes you feel bad. In the long run, it never really helps you achieve your ultimate desire to feel good.

What we’ve discovered is that you can make much better use of your desire to feel good. You can use wanting to feel good to finally accomplish your goal of life long buoyant vibrant health and fitness. What’s more, you can continue to feel good along the way. You can take the very same desire that is presently causing you to behave destructively to your body and to yourself and you can turn it around. This is really possible. And, it’s simple. Instead of feeling your way fat, you can feel your way fit!

It’s your choice. Are you ready to have it all? Are you ready to take the happy path to buoyant vibrant health and fitness? Are you ready to feel good while you feel your way fit? If so, let’s go!

Be Happy Now

We are blessed with the ability to think. Or is it a blessing? Well, the answer to that is up to you. You have the power to make thinking either a blessing or a curse. Bad memories, fears of the future, idle thought forms and consistently repeated negative conversations (such as “I’m fat and ugly.”) can cause us to feel bad – depressed, incapable, disgusted with ourselves, anxious or terrified.

Limiting thoughts cause negative feelings which constrict energy. These thoughts cut you off from your natural positive energy flow. Suppose you’re really down in the dumps. You think, “I am so fat that I don’t look good in any of my clothes. I look ugly no matter whether I have clothes on or not. I hate myself. I can’t do anything right.” How does that make you feel? Bad, right? Who wouldn’t feel bad?

But, there is another possibility. When this kind of thing happens, you can actually choose another thought. You’re a free agent. You have options. You can usually come up with a believable thought that makes you feel better. The point is to take your attention away from whatever is blocking the flow and put your focus on anything that will release the positive energy.

This is not about you trying to tell yourself something you don’t believe. It’s about you choosing the healthiest, most uplifting, best feeling believable thoughts you can find. These thoughts can get your creative juices going again. Maybe you could try something like this, “You know, by being persistent, I’ve found solutions to other things. Perhaps, with that same persistence, someday I’ll find a way to attain and maintain my perfect weight.” Or “I’m glad I’m still healthy.” Or “It’s wonderful how many people accept and love me exactly the way I am.” Or “I’m really interested in this new book I’m reading. There seem to be some ideas I’ve never really tried before. Maybe this different way of thinking can help me get what I want.”

Remember, your purpose is to reach for the best feeling thought you can come up with - whatever you can conceive and believe. Something that will redirect your attention and get your positive energy flowing. It doesn’t have to be earth shattering. If you’re feeling really bad, you just need to find less distressing thoughts than what you were thinking that made you feel so terrible, anything that will help to make you feel at least a little bit better.
