Classical Ballet - Advanced Allegro 40 - 45

For ages 13 and older, and as a daily lesson plan of selected allegro combinations for mature male and female ballet dancers.

For the young teen expect 3 years to master the technique. The introduction to the advanced syllabi is here.

If possible, now is the time to have a piano accompanist for classes, for the flexibility live music can lend to the moment's need in teaching.

Advanced Allegro 40 - 45

40. Ballonné, pas de basque
preparation: face corner 2, 5th position, RF front,
R arm écarté, L arm second, head écarté
A. one ballonné to corner 1 with RF
B. chassé RF to corner 1 and transfer weight onto LF in coupé under
C. extend RF in ronde de jambe en de hors
D. finish pas de basque LF front
repeat to corner 2, LF ballonné to corner 2

41. Relevé on demi pointe en avant et en arrière
preparation: face 5, 5th position, LF front, arms low
en avant:
A. demi plié, relevé on LF, RF to retiré position,
head and shoulders to RF, arms open slightly
B. close in demi plié, RF front
repeat to left - change head and shouldering 8x
en arrière:
preparation: LF will be 5th position front
A. demi plié relevé on RF, LF retiré, head leans right,
arms open slightly, no shouldering
B. close in demi plié, LF back
repeat to right 8x

42. Pas de sissone dessus en dessous
dessus: preparation: face 5, 5th position LF front
A. dégagé RF to seconde, on the count of "&" L leg demi plié
B. push off L leg to left and close feet in 5th position, RF front,
L leg 5th, all on the count of one
C. head and shoulders to extended foot, arms open slightly
repeat to right side 8x
dessous: preparation: LF 5th position front
A. dégagé LF to second and proceed as above
except close extended foot back and no shouldering,
head leans toward supporting leg
repeat to left 8x

43. Entrechat trois, coupé assemblé
preparation: face 5, 5th position, RF front, arms low
A. ct 1 - from demi plié jump up in 5th,
beat front back landing on LF, RF back of L ankle
B. ct 2 - spring down in 5th
repeat with LF front

44. Grand pas de chat
preparation: from corner 3 to corner 1,
face corner 2 in 5th position LF front
grand pas de chat from corner 3 to corner 1,
repeat with RF front from corner 4 to corner 2,
arm of front foot is in seconde,
look over arm of back foot which is 5th en avant

45. Temps levé, chassé, pas de bourrée, 2 pas de chat
preparation: face 5, 5th position, RF front, arms low
A. temps levé on LF, arms 5th enavant, head fwd
B. chassé RF to 2nd, open arms to 2nd, head leans to right
C. pas de bourrée dessus head to front foot
D. 2 pas de chat to right, R arm fwd, L arm second
repeat all to left side
