Sambuca Nutritional InformationSambuca is a delicious, anise flavored liqueur from Italy. It is so sweet that people who like alcoholic coffees will often choose to use sambuca rather than sugar as the sweetening agent. The Sambuca liqueur is actually made from licorice and witch elder, with a lot of sugar, herbs and spices mixed into it. While straight alcohol has zero carbs, this concoction definitely has a few! A single shot of sambuca has about 11g of carbs, and 103 calories. For people in induction - who shouldn't be drinking alcohol anyway - this is over half of their carb count. If you're going to be drinking Sambuca, you better be planning to dance the night away, to burn that sugar off! Find some healthy way to burn off those extra calories. I know many people who keep a bottle of Sambuca in the freezer - the high alcohol content prevents it from freezing and shattering the bottle. Don't try this with wine!! The very cold sambuca is perfect for sore throats, if you're coming down with a cold or have been out somewhere smoky all night.
