Cis-fatty Acids
Cis-Fatty acids are nutritionally beneficial unsaturated essential fatty acids (EFA) in their natural form. Your body uses Cis-EFAs to make important hormone-like regulators and cell membranes. When cis-fatty acids are heated at high temperatures or hydrogenated, they are changed into unhealthy, destructive trans-fatty acids which behave similarly to saturated fats and interfere with your use of essential fatty acids.
