Saint Patrick's Day! What does this day mean to you? Do you wear green? Join me as we learn more about Saint Patrick's Day and the luck of the Irish.
Saint Patrick's Day is a feast day which annually celebrates the patron saint of Ireland. I have always been fascinated by this day, I guess because I was born into an Irish family.
1. Do you and your family, friends wear green on this day to avoid getting pinched? How about your journal? Do you write in green ink? If not why not give it a try this year.
2. Do you have any special plans to celebrate this day? If not, why not make up some imaginary plans. Use your journal to write down what a perfect Saint Patrick's Day would be for you.
3. Green beverages! Have you ever drank a green beverage on Saint Patrick's Day? If so what was it and how did it taste? My favorite beverage on Saint Patrick's Day is green tea.
4. Have you ever followed a rainbow to see what was at the end of it? Is there really a pot of gold?
5. Do you or someone you know own a green bow tie?
6. Have you ever found a four leaf clover? Have you ever went looking for a four leaf clover? Why not? I love to look for these with my girls. We haven't found one yet, but there is always tomorrow.
7. Think back and share with your journal a special memory you have about a Saint Patrick's Day past. It could be that you met that special someone in your life on that day. Or you got promoted or just had a memorable moment that you can preserve on the pages of your journal.
8. Have you ever met a leprechaun? What did he look like? Did he have an accent? If you've never met a leprechaun personally why not daydream a little and think of what you would do if you did meet one. What would you ask him, how would he look? Would you take him home?
9. This Saint Patrick's Day share with your journal something that happened on this day in your country. How does your country celebrate this green day? What happened that impacted those in your part of the world?
Have fun and stay green this Saint Patrick's Day!
