Cat Prompts
Guest Author - Melissa Waters

I guess you could say I am a dog lover. All my life I've had a dog. When I was little my mother use to tell me before I walked in the door, no you can't keep it! I also love other furry animals too, but dogs have always been my favorite. My current dog is a pomeranian rescued from an abusive home. Her name is Teddy Bear and we have the same hair color.

Now, if for some strange reason you don't own a dog, let's get our pretend hats out and let's pretend we own one while we are journaling together today.

Here are some prompts to work through your feelings on dogs:

Day One: How long have you had your dog?

Day Two: What was the process you used to name your dog?

Day Three: How has your dog inspired you to journal?

Day Four: Where did you get your dog from?

Day Five: What is your favorite thing about your dog?

Day Six: Where does your dog spend most of their time?

Day Seven: Who owns who? You own the dog or does the dog own you?

Responses are not meant to be one sentence answers, elaborate on your answers. Meditate, reflect and enjoy. Or in this case, let your canine friend inspire you to journal today.

I would like to share with you some of my journal entries about my favorite canine friend!

Day Seven: Who owns who? You own the dog or does the dog own you?
Well.... if I had to be honest here, I would have to say that Teddy Bear, my dog, owns me. She sleeps on the biggest part of my pillow each night. And if for some reason I forget to pick her up at night and help her get into bed, than she will sit by the corner of the bed and scratch and whine until I notice her. She goes everywhere with me. She is the first thing that I see each morning as I wake up and the last thing I see before I fall asleep. So I guess I have been under control by her canine charm since she entered our home.

Here are some good reads about our canine friends that are sure to inspire your journaling.
