Although Spanish-speakers get most of the attention, speakers of hundreds of languages other than English are crowding into U.S. classrooms. The common language of education must be English.

Stop Devaluing Standard English in the Schools star
Language is the vehicle of education and the transmission of culture. Teachers especially need to value their native language and its literature. It is not enough to be a math teacher or P.E. teacher. All teachers must be English teachers.
